I am a marine biologist studying the biodiversity of phytoplankton (microalgae) in the ocean. I am particurlarly interested in revealing the strategies microalgae have evolved to thrive in nature. I utilize classical photophysiological techniques with state-of-the-art subcellular imaging to interrogate the cellular mechanisms of microalgae in order to answer some of life's basic questions.
I received my Ph.D. in Marine Biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and continued my postdoctoral studies jointly at the European Molocular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg (Germany) at the University of Grenoble-Alpes (France).
